BeeSpace ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the BeeSpace mobile application ("App").
Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use BeeSpace:
- Account information: your email address, display name, and zip code
- Hive and apiary data: apiary names and locations, hive inspection records, Varroa treatment logs, queen tracking notes, hive splits, and colony health data you enter into the App
- Photos: hive photos you attach to inspection notes or submit for AI-powered health scans
- Location: approximate location when you create an apiary, used only to pre-fill the address field — your location is not tracked continuously or in the background
How We Use Your Information
- To store and sync your hive data securely across your devices
- To provide AI-powered hive health analysis on photos you submit
- To process and manage your subscription payments
- To send authentication emails (magic link sign-in)
- To improve the App's features and performance
Third-Party Services
BeeSpace relies on the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — database storage, user authentication, and file storage for hive photos. Your data is stored securely and is only accessible through your authenticated account.
- RevenueCat — subscription management and payment processing. Payment transactions are handled by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Anthropic — AI analysis of hive photos you submit for health scans. Photos are sent to Anthropic's API for analysis and are not retained by Anthropic beyond completing the analysis.
Data Storage and Security
Your hive photos are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket. All photo access requires authentication and uses short-lived, expiring links. We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data in transit and at rest.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time by going to Profile → Delete Account within the App. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Children's Privacy
BeeSpace is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
